Area Information
This part of southern Spain although a well discovered holiday area has been spared the excesses of the western  Costa del Sol  and is  considered  relatively unspoiled.  Spain Villas are half an hour from Malaga International Airport, and one and a half hours from Granada.  Seville and Madrid are further at two and five hours drive respectively. Our location can be see shown on the map below at "Torrox".

This locality has been officially recognized as enjoying the best climate in continental Europe, with warm winters and moderated summers.  Winter temperatures average 15 C rising to around 30 C in summer. The sea is warm and clean here and there are a variety of different types of beaches nearby ranging from wide and sandy to rocky and secluded.

From Torrox or Mijas it is possible to visit the cities of Granada, Seville, Malaga and Cordoba. Activity possibilities here are endless with Golfers in particular, well catered for.  Nearby the Almijarra and Montes de Malaga nature reserves can be explored. These inland areas where the mountain peaks rise to over 7000 feet are home to many varieties of flora and fauna now lost to most of Europe. These parks are a haven for  walking, horse riding or mountain biking. Down at the beaches one can find the usual array of possibilities including, swimming, diving fishing etc.

Sightseeing is endless too, probably the most visited location is the Alhambra Palace in Granada, about an hour away.  The Sierra Nevada with the longest skiing season in Europe is a little further at one and a half hours drive.  Malaga, Ronda, Cordoba, Nerja and even Morocco are all possible excursions. Day trips can be easily booked in nearby Nerja or Mijas town centers to visit Morocco the Alhambra or any of the above mentioned cities and towns. Back
